Members of Grand Solmar Vacation Club have many questions regarding the new requirements for guests returning to the US and Canada. New announcements were made recently by the US CDC and the Government of Canada regarding the return of residents from international travel. While members and guests are encouraged to continually check their perspective home countries’ websites for any changes to their travel policies, this article addresses the most current guidelines as of January 2021.
As requested by the US’s CDC, all returning travelers to the US must show proof of a negative NAAT or Antigen COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours and no less than 3 hours before travel. This requirement, placed by Executive Order, takes effect on January 26th, 2021, and applies to all travelers two years of age and older. In response to this requirement,
Grand Solmar Vacation Club has partnered with the Cabo Medical Center to offer on-site certified testing by medical professionals.
On-site members and their guests will also receive a preferential rate of USD 23 per person, including tax for the required Antigen test.
Due to the volume of testing being done on-site, members are advised to book time for their testing consistent with current requirements upon arrival at the resort with the Concierge. For travelers returning to Canada, everyone aged five and above must prove they received a negative PCR COVID-19 test within 72 hours before boarding their return flight. This travel requirement has been in effect since January 7, 2021.

These tests are available through the Cabo Medical Center and are also at preferential rates to members and their guests. All tests are administered by professionals that are trained and certified by the Mexican Health Secretary. The Los Cabos Tourism Board has additional information on their website regarding their partnership with the Los Cabos International Airport, government health officials, and other tourism partners regarding the required testing and medical certificates for visitors returning to their home country.
Grand Solmar Vacation Club would like to clarify that according to current regulations, proof of receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine is not a substitute for the required negative testing certificate. Our on-site Concierges are happy to assist all on-site members and their guests with the scheduling of any required tests and answer any questions regarding visitor and staff health and safety guidelines.
