Grand Solmar Vacation Club members and guests enjoy that their accommodations always include a fully equipped kitchen. Especially since the 2020 pandemic, many visitors to the Los Cabos area are taking advantage of preparing and eating their meals in their suites. Families with children also find this an excellent option for saving money or catering to young picky eaters.
Top Tips Grand Solmar Vacation Club for 2023
Regardless of which Grand Solmar Vacation Club resort your vacation is, one of the most significant benefits members and their guests enjoy is the fully equipped kitchens within their suites. The kitchens are large with all the appliances you are used to and fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and dishes, so you have everything needed to prepare a great meal within your suite.
Grand Solmar Vacation Club members order ahead and use a delivery service.
There are grocery delivery services available in the Los Cabos area that will deliver groceries directly to your suite to make your stay less stressful. Many Grand Solmar Vacation Club members choose to order the most basic staples delivered before their arrival, so the regular items you know you will want, such as coffee, bread, fruits, and snack items, will be waiting for you in your suite.
The other option is to stock up on supplies yourself once you arrive. Going grocery shopping in Los Cabos may take a little planning, mainly if you choose not to rent a car, but it can be a fun adventure. Most members and guests ask, where is the best place to go?
Cabo San Lucas has grown tremendously over the past decade, and the days of having only one or two grocery stores to choose from are gone. Many options are available, some close by, others a quick drive away. So, where should you go to stock up on groceries and other supplies? The best answer depends on where you are staying and what you want to buy, according to Grand Solmar Vacation Club.
If you want familiarity, many shopping options, such as Costco and Wal-Mart, are available at the same stores you frequent at home. These large box stores are located on the corridor close to Cabo and carry many of the same products as a store in the US or Canada. Both stores allow you to stock up on everything you need for your vacation; however, many Grand Solmar members have mentioned that they prefer Wal-Mart’s relatively large bakery section with authentic Mexican pastries.
Both options above are not considered walkable from the resort, especially when returning with bags of groceries, so you would need to plan for a taxi, Uber, or rental car.
Other options in the Northern part of town are also closer for those visiting Grand Solmar and those staying at Rancho San Lucas. These options to the north part of town include Chedraui, La Comer, Soriana, and La Ley Express.
La Comer has the most organic produce, imported items, and the most significant bakery out of all the options in this part of town. Soriana is the largest store by far, and many household items are much cheaper here as they have their in-house brand of products, so this store is top-rated by locals.
Chedraui is also an option similar to La Comer. Located in San Jose del Cabo, Chedraui Selecto is a much larger option and has many gourmet foods available and more imported products. The locals consider it a higher-end supermarket, one of the most expensive places to shop in town. La Comer’s higher-end version, La Comer Fresko, offers fresh produce and products.
If you stayed at Rancho San Lucas and forgot tortillas, milk, eggs, or chips, La Ley Express is the closest option, just a few minutes up the highway.
A full supermarket at Ley is available for shopping; however, the vegetables, dairy section, and butcher counter are limited. It offers almost all of the basic requirements and a pharmacy.
Enjoy your time in Los Cabos and make stocking up a fun part of your trip, and enjoy some fantastic meals or simple snacks in your suites in paradise!
